Weezer and The Pixies are teaming adult for a co-headlining tour, kicking off in a summer of 2018. The bands stop in Tinley Park during a Hollywood Casino Amphitheatre Jul 7.
The seven-week North American debate was announced Thursday, roughly a week after Weezer’s 11th studio manuscript “Pacific Daydream” was released. The Pixies many new manuscript “Head Carrier” came out in 2016.
In a statement, Pixies frontman Black Francis said, “We’re all large Weezer fans, so we’re unequivocally looking brazen to this summer. We have a lot of honour for Weezer, they’re not fearful to take risks with their music.”
The initial half of a debate (June 23-July 15) will see English stone act, The Wombats offer as opening act. The opener for a second half of a debate will be announced soon.
Tickets go on sale Friday, Nov. 10 during 10 a.m. by Live Nation. Weezer fans can sign-up for a band’s email list for entrance to a presale starting Monday during 11 a.m.
