No-Bake Chocolate Oatmeal Cookies
Makes 36 to 42 cookies. Recipe from Tillie Baker’s files was mutated by Cheramie Sonnier.
½ crater milk
2 cups sugar
½ crater unsalted butter
4 tablespoons cocoa
¼ teaspoon salt
½ teaspoon vanilla extract
½ crater peanut butter
3 cups discerning oats or 2½ cups out-of-date oats
1. Bring milk, sugar, butter, cocoa and salt to full rolling boil in a 3-quart saucepan; boil 2 minutes. Remove from heat.
2. Add vanilla and peanut butter and stir until peanut butter is melted. Add oats; brew well. Drop by spoonfuls onto waxed paper to cool.
Note: My mother’s chronicle calls for hot a sugarine and divert for 1 minute, afterwards adding a cocoa, vanilla, peanut butter, salt and oats and violence until coherence to dump onto a waxed paper.
