It’s that special time of a year for a favorite plan of Sumter Volunteers. It’s time to “Shower Shaw With Cookies” for a 26th Christmas.
This annual project, begun in 1993, gives a Sumter village an event to uncover a thankfulness for all Shaw does for us all year long.
Last year, a village sent a record-breaking 5,131 dozen home-baked cookies and 4,750-plus cards out to Shaw. A collection of homemade cookies or candy from a good cooks of Sumter County will once again widespread holiday hearten to this special group. The handmade cards and letters from a students and children are appreciated immensely. Remember to bake an additional collection for a Third Army folks!
Your cookies and cards can be delivered to Swan Lake Visitors Center by 3 p.m. on Wednesday, Dec. 5. Cookies need to be homemade, packaged in disposable containers and numbered by dozens on a outside. (Boxes and tins work improved than cosmetic bags.) Call (803) 775-7423 if we will bake for us.
