OAKLAND — The male convicted of murdering a obvious and dear area ice cream businessman in East Oakland in 2015 was condemned Friday to 45 years to life in prison.
Joevan Lopez, 25, was convicted in Nov of a first-degree murder of Jasvir Singh, 45, after a jury deliberated for usually one day.
Singh was killed around 4:30 p.m. Oct. 3, 2015, in a 9800 retard of Peach Street, as children waited nearby. Singh, a Sikh who left behind a teenage daughter, sole ice cream in a area for several years and his genocide ravaged a East Oakland neighborhood.
