Twelve days after Christmas comes Dia de los Reyes, or Three Kings Day (also famous as Epiphany), during that many Latino communities around a universe accumulate with family to applaud a attainment of a 3 kings or magi.

Los tres reyes are believed to have brought gifts of gold, frankincense and myrrh to Bethlehem to respect a baby Jesus. Some families, in Mexico and South America, eat Rosca — candied bread fit for a king. Other families, like in Puerto Rico and other Caribbean nations, build on a parranda, an Afro-Indigenous tradition that calls for a house-to-house “caroling” of friends and families.
