Beginning Monday, a new Dairy Queen grill will be opening a doors in a city, bringing a full menu of “grill and chill” food items.
On Saturday, a owners of a new authorization welcomed approximately 200 invited guest for an early preview of a restaurant, permitting them to representation some of a menu, including a several ice cream products and sandwiches.
“We have a full menu,” co-owner Umesh Nagpal said.
The grill is partial of a DQ Grill and Chill concept, featuring prohibited dishes such as prohibited dogs, hamburgers, duck and more, along with a ice cream, Blizzards, ice cream cakes and other selections. The grill also facilities a drive-through and an outside square area.
Nagpal explained he and co-owner Kawaljit Goraya were contacted about locating in Weirton some-more than a year ago by former Mayor George Kondik, and began looking during a site during 230 Three Springs Drive, that formerly had been a home to a Burger King franchise.
He remarkable during construction, residents mostly would stop and tell them stories about their possess memories of former Dairy Queen franchises that had been located for years in Weirton. He removed one lady in sold who told him Dairy Queen had been her initial job, approximately 50 years ago.
“Everyone has left out of their approach to make us comfortable,” Nagpal said.
Among those in assemblage Saturday, pity his possess memories was stream Weirton Mayor Harold Miller, who pronounced he and his mother would go to Dairy Queen on dates in their youth.
“We missed it,” Miller said. “It will be a good item to a city.”
Weirton Area Chamber of Commerce President Brenda Mull agreed, observant residents have been looking brazen a a restaurant’s opening given news pennyless progressing this year.
“It’s good to have Dairy Queen behind in Weirton,” Mull said. “I consider a village has missed carrying one.”
Mull thanked Nagpal, Goraya, as good as Orion Development that owns a skill for their work in bringing a plan together.
“A lot of people have put a lot of bid into this,” she said.
Nagpal pronounced they primarily have hired 40 area residents, with hopes for additional employees after on.
