Best Bay Area Burgers: The Sweet 16

Whether you’re a San Jose burger fan or a Berkeley devotee, there’s no doubt that a Bay Area’s burger stage rocks. But that one is a Primo Patty?

Last Sunday, we asked readers to be judge, jury and eater —and assistance us select a best of a buns, bracket-style. We offering adult 32 impossibly juicy possibilities, from a slimey integrity of Gott’s to Trueburger, Five Guys (and those fries) and more. Now a votes are in — and a Savory 16 embody some surprises!

Super Duper pulled a large dissapoint when it bested Five Guys Burgers and Fries. Indie burger corner Main Street positively trounced Umami. The South Bay’s Brown Chicken Brown Cow went patty-to-patty with Kirk’s Steakburgers, before finally rising triumphant, many thousands of votes later. And in a pitched East Bay battle, Broderick Roadhouse kick Drake’s Dealership by a singular vote.

So what happens next? That’s adult to you, burger lovers. We’re down to 8 stately contenders. Cast your votes in a brackets next from now until 10 a.m. on Monday, Nov. 6. We’ll betray a Elite Ate (see what we did there?) on Tuesday morning.
